Delete the cache and data in PAX devices.

Clearing the cache of the Handpoint Payments app can be helpful when moving a terminal in between merchants or if the reader has been acting abnormally.

This will erase the configurations from the app in your reader, clearing out any app related data. After performing this step, it is necessary to setup the app again (eg. go through the onboarding): 

To clear the cache and data:

  1. Navigate to the Android settings of the terminal (not the app)

  2. Use password pax9876@@ or 9876 when required

  3. Go to the Apps section 

  4. Locate the Handpoint Payments app 

  5. Go to Storage

  6. Select CLEAR DATA (this will clear both cache and data)


A similar procedure can be used for any application built by an ISV on top of the Handpoint Android SDK : 

To clear the cache and data:

  1. Navigate to the Android settings of the terminal (not the app)

  2. Use password pax9876@@ or 9876 when required

  3. Go to the Apps section 

  4. Locate the ISV app

  5. Go to Storage

  6. Select CLEAR DATA (this will clear both cache and data)
