Hardware Tests

Pax offers a seamless way to check if the different parts of the hardware are working as expected. In order to run hardware checks go to the calculator app and enter the code !4444= you will be redirected to an hidden menu. Click Unit test and select the part of the hardware you would like to test.

How to run a chip slot test?

Go to the calculator app and enter the code !4444=, click ICC and select new card at the bottom right, click START

How to run a touchscreen test?

Go to the calculator app and enter the code !4444=, click tp then click START, with your finger touch the squares all around the screen.

How to run a WiFi test?

Go to the calculator app and enter the code !4444=, click Wi-Fi and select single test at the bottom right, click START. You will be redirected to the Wi-Fi access points, click on your wifi access point and enter the wifi password.

How to run a battery test?

Go to the calculator app and enter the code !4444=, click bat and click START, follow the instructions from the screen, you will be asked to connect/disconnect the terminal from a power source

If the battery test is successful but the terminal is still unable to charge above X% try the following procedure to change the “Power supply work mode” to “mobile mode” :

How to run a PED test (PIN screen test)?

Go to the calculator app and enter the code !4444=, click PED and click START, enter 1111 as a PIN

How to run a magstripe test?

Go to the calculator app and enter the code !4444=, click MSR and select common card at the bottom right, click START and follow the instructions

How to run a contactless slot test?

Go to the calculator app and enter the code !4444=, click PICC and select detect at the bottom right, click START and present a contactless card.

How to run a print test?

Go to the calculator app and enter the code !4444=, click prn and click START, make sure the terminal has a paper roll in it before starting the test.

For the test to be satisfactory, the number that is printed on the ticket must be typed. Here we show an example:

How to run a LCD screen test?

Go to the calculator app and enter the code !4444=, click lcd and click START, follow the instructions on the screen.

How to run a “Beep” test? (Sound signal emitted by the device when reading a contactless card)

Go to the calculator app and enter the code !4444=, click beep and click START, the device will emit different "beeps".
